On Good Friday 26th March 2027 the Richmond Passion Play will bring together the town's churches and the wider community to tell the story of the first Easter.

As the story unfolds, the action moves through the streets and buildings of our beautiful, historic town.

Baroness Angela Harris of Richmond says:

I am delighted and honoured to be patron of this exciting, inspirational and moving Easter addition to Richmond’s ever-growing cultural scene. Putting on such a large-scale production in our town will involve many local participants in a whole range of different ways - actors, dress makers, carpenters and joiners, musicians, crowd-scene performers, make-up artists - the list is endless. It will be such an epic event and I encourage everyone in Richmond to get involved in some way. It promises to become as memorable as the York or Wakefield Mystery Plays  - so please join us and help make this event extraordinary.
